Hawaii. Unbelievable. I just returned from a very quick trip to Kauai with Dreamfire Media Group. Arrived Thursday night, starting shooting Friday at 6:30 am, finished around 1 am. Spent all day Saturday on this beach, and then that beach. Came home Sunday.

Yaffa and Daniel get hitched in a barn

I had a great time shooting this wedding. Thanks Yaffa and Daniel for throwing such a great party, and thanks to all their guests for rocking the photo booth all night! I’m looking forward to editing this one…5000+ photos!!!
I-West featured in PDN Magazine

The current Photo District News has an interesting article on non-profit journalism and how photojournalists are finding their place. Investigate-West is featured prominently as are a couple of my photos, including a picture from birdland, Tule Calif., and one from the gang series.

A few recent images from the rural gang project. While killing time before meeting my contacts I got the van stuck down a quarter mile ravine road and ended up spending the night as all area tow trucks were inexplicably in Spokane until the following day. Ate a pork chop and listened to NPR and 787 test flights overhead and dealt with the situation after a hard rain and the sun came back up.
Georgetown wedding

I shot a beautiful wedding this weekend at the engine Room in Georgetown (Seattle) and these images are some of my favorites from the first look through. The last one especially sticks out for me because I remember seeing him and thinking how jealous I was after 10 hours of running around, carrying sandbags, a ladder, heavy cameras…I believe I finally made it to my bed but there were a few cozy corners that nearly won me over along the way.
Congrats Angela and Eric!
Florida wrap-up
Florida
Man I want to do that, could get a chance Monday after I wrap up my shoot, but forecast says clouds, rain…My hopes of finally getting over jet lag were dashed last night as I had to switch rooms- cockroach issues. Smell issues. It’s a glamorous life indeed…
Southern hospitality

I had a lovely evening with the Brewster’s in Atlanta, documenting their goings-on as part of my ’southeast tour’ for Tom Lennon’s Peterson Foundation project. Thanks for the steak and the Sweetwater guys, ’tis a fine beer with an apt name. Now on to Destin FL, white sand beaches and two more days of shooting…
First wedding of the season…

…and such a lovely affair it was. Camp Huston in Gold Bar, Washington. Congratulations Hollie and Isiah, a joy to meet you both.
