It was great to work with Andre Mora on another feature for Seattle Met, this a story about Zahid Chaudhry, a U.S. soldier married to a U.S. citizen who faces deportation to his native Pakistan on Homeland Security suspicions that he has not been entirely forthcoming on important details of his past. I’ve never been disappointed with page layout and design working for this pub, and the current issue is no exception.

I’m feeling pretty good about our work on the Olympic Peninsula last week, but still trying to process the seriousness of the issues out there. I’ll be posting more once we’ve got our stories sorted out and put together.

Foreclosed tenants for MCF

The final photo essay from Miami is up on Equal Voice. It’s an odd limbo that low-income tenants are put in when their landlords are foreclosed on. In this particular unit water and electricity have been shut off with zero upkeep of the property since the owner disappeared in 2009.

I’m back on the Olympic Peninsula this week, tracking down family poverty and immigration stories for the Marguerite Casey Foundation. Staying in Forks- might just have to pick up a Twilight mug.
